Curiosity

           It is estimated that one out of every six adults in the United States is Functionally illiterate - unable to read and write for everyday tasks, such as reading the labels on food containers or filling out application forms. At the same time, more than 50 percent of all jobs in this country require more than a hight-school education.
           Adult literacy training is one very important part of the United States effort to provide its citizens with the skills necessary to became produtive members of the work force. Many programs operated by schools and libraries across the country include courses designed to teach adults how to improve their reading and writing skills. In 1989, the First lady, Mrs. Barbara Bush, became head of a national campaing against illiteracy.

Música Tema da Copa do Mundo 2010

Foi lançada a música e vídeo clipe da música que é tema da Copa do Mundo da África do Sul 2010, a canção é interpretada pelo cantor sul-africano chamado K’naan e se chama Wavin’ Flag (Bandeira Tremulante). A canção tem muita influência dos ritmos africanos. Veja no clipe abaixo

A música remixada de Wavin’ Flag, do cantor K’Naan, nascido na Somália e naturalizado canadense, foi criada pela Coca-Cola, e será a música tema oficial da Copa do Mundo da África do Sul de 2010.

A Coca-Cola foi patrocinadora oficial do Mundial da Fifa e editou a música original Wavin’ Flag para ficar com cara da África, mas sem deixar de lado o ritmo já tão conhecido usado em suas propagandas.


Wavin’ Flag: The Celabration Mix é um remix da trilha original do terceiro album de K’Naan, chamado Troubadour.
